the Shaman Songs were designed, formatted, printed, stamped & handbound in June of 2020 while living at a friend's house during the global-covid-lockdown.  included with the 33-poem suite is their companion essay, Without This You Are Not Your Self. 
 
while a big chunk of the essay was originally scribbled on the 15th of August back in 2018, the poetry came all at once in a week of inspired intent & altered (p)reception, between May 28th – June 4th, 2020. 

from the introduction: 
"For years & years now iv looked & looked, found a few clues & traces, a couple hints & prints & indications, but never the live thing–– no matter how long i’ve tracked or far beyond the trail i’ve followed, it’s always remained hidden: 'no one’s written it yet,' i’d think, 'no one’s gotten it down. or worse–– maybe no one’s even Had the experience…' before getting fed up & finally deciding: 'maybe i just haven’t lived yet before now in Western History'–– figuring if i couldn’t find the Visionary Book of Shamanic Power Songs & Sacred Mushroom Poems iv been searching for so long, it could only be because i hadn’t yet written it."
